Overview

All unlisted add-ons submitted under the official Mozilla account (addons-team@mozilla.com) will get "rubber stamp" approval in the immediate term, meaning you’ll have to wait for a human to go hit the approve button, but don't have to wait for a code review. In the future, we will implement a whitelisting process so that these submissions are published without human intervention.

Listed add-ons will continue to go through the normal review process.

More information about the listed and unlisted submission processes are available here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/Distribution

Criteria to qualify

Extensions should be some sort of official Mozilla project, not a one off pet project. Extensions that execute remote code in privileged scope will need a manual review.

Process to request

Email ace-team@mozilla.com (Add-ons/ACE) to request to be added to the addons-team@mozilla.com account, and we will add this account as a hidden author on the add-on. If release timing is critical, send us the extension in advance so we can make sure there won't be any hiccups.
