Strategy:

• go through all db calls with goal of minimizing the number and optimizing queries
• optimizing template usage; we know there are slow parts of template toolkit and we may need to hack around them.
  • consider commenting out bits to isolate the template calls that take the longest.
• consider breaking up templates to stream them
• determine whether loading bug tooltips after page load would appreciably speed up initial load time.

• continue getting through old upstream reviews. prioritize reviews from contributors who may still be active or who disappeared more recently.
