Marketplace/Releases

Marketplace releases happen weekly and, in most cases, features don’t need to be held for specific dates. We’ve established several checkpoints listed below when we want to have a certain set of features finished and available for wider testing and announcements.

Current Milestone

June 21, 2012 bug 752013

For this milestone, we'll finish all core features needed for Boot2Gecko, including functional consumer pages in the B2G form factor.

This milestone polishes the Marketplace for B2G and adds remaining core features for the Marketplace launch on mobile.

This is likely the last major milestone before desktop and mobile launch, and includes finishing polish on desktop pages and more advanced discovery and sharing features.

Developer Registration - Feb. 23, 2012

The Developer Registration milestone allows developers to submit their apps and edit their details to reserve their place in the Marketplace and give feedback on payments, submission, management, and other components. The consumer side will be blocked out and unavailable.

Mozillian Preview - May 8, 2012

The Mozillian Preview will give consumers a first look at our responsive design, visual style, and core pages including app purchasing. It should work across devices but may not be perfect in every browser. Pages may only have basic features.

Features/tasks:

• Core pages implemented with responsive design and new style: homepage, details, search, browse/category
• Purchasing apps with and without PayPal billing agreement in place
• Refund flow (consumer request & developer approval)
• Video support
• Account History page
• In-app purchases consumer UI and flow
• Cross-browser support for mobile, tablets, and desktop
• Developer Hub landing pages
• App review tools
