Major Update Test Results: Firefox 3.0.11 to Firefox 3.5rc3(build2)
Instructions
- Download Firefox 3.0.11
- Install it and change the update channel to betatest
- Preferably use a rich profile
- Restart the browser and select "Check for Updates" from the Help menu
- Update Dialog should be localized and fit within the window
- Spot check the major-updated Firefox 3.5rc3 and verify that it is operating as expected
- NOTE: Fx3.0.11 tr and mn will not trigger a Major Update. Please verify that on your platforms.
Instructions for testing Major Update
- In addition to above:
- Test 1: Check for idleness not triggering MU
- set app.update.interval in about:config to 30000 and restart (1 minute later, it should do an update check)
- Do the Major Update
- Log your staging results in the same section
