Investing in 1:1 conversations prior to the event is critical piece of preparation for London. This is an opportunity to ensure your volunteer arrives prepared, aligned and part of your team - the benefit of which allows for your focused effort on-site, and your volunteer's ability to keep pace.
- Read this conversation guide, both to prepare yourself, and for advice on good questions to ask.
- As part of designing your own, schedule, identify which sessions your volunteer should be invited to - and ensure they are on those invites. Identify gaps in that scheduling for your volunteer and in your 1:1 conversations review options which can include reviewing sessions and spaces inviting and open to volunteers in other spaces via this special sched tag.
- Reach out to your volunteer to schedule their 1:1 and to provide links and resources they can read in advance - perhaps using this simple template. Tip! Calendly is a great tool for scheduling, if you need to plan plan more than one conversation.
- Invite others on your team to join your call if they are available - or to submit questions, and information if they have them.
