Stability
- Due to an error, since Monday the summary rates were displayed incorrected in Mission Control - see https://github.com/mozilla/missioncontrol/issues/317
- Because of this I did not include Tuesday's reported score in today's results
- If you are testing crash reporter firing on either mobile or desktop, please add a comment that it is a test. I have one 62b11 signature on Fennec with 8 crashes or so, no comments.
- If someone else wants to try Ted's script (https://github.com/luser/breakpad-scrape-system-symbols/) to get crash symbols for 10.14, please let me know. With the release speculated for Sept/October we really should try to get them, and
then upload them to Socorro so we can diagnose any potential issues
Nightly
firefox nightly summary score: 4.19, last week: 3.84
- Mission Control shows an increase in Linux Content crashes
- Liz filed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1478109 for the single install crash which generated 2600 crashes
- Several different WR crashes after various landings
Beta
firefox beta summary score: 3.04, last week: 3.22
- Early B11 data looks good
- Issue with async shutdown timeouts in addon code got a patch: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1464938
Release
firefox release summary score: 2.41, last week: 2.65
- Rate overall looks good
- Still waiting for flash signatures - tracking signatures in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1476008
Mobile
- Crash rate is calculated based on usage hours (the time Firefox is actively used).
- Usage hours will be significantly lower on Fennec than on desktop Firefox, so we can't compare mobile rates to desktop rates.
- Release
fennec release summary score: 28.52, last week: 28.83
- Chris added a comment to longstanding crash https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=760394.
- Not much else to report on release - all top crashes are known and have been called out previously
- Beta
fennec beta summary score: 32.71, last week: 33.27
- Early returns still coming in
- Nightly
fennec nightly summary score: 60.48, last week 42.85
- Mission Control shows an increase in main crashes (though can see some improvements over the last couple days: https://data-missioncontrol.dev.mozaws.net/#/nightly/android/main_crashes )
- Google Play Console detected the recent spike in nightly, both in ANRs and crashes
- Some of the higher volume crashes are on their way to being resolved fixed
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1476710 should be resolved in the next nightly
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1477041 has a review+
- After the fix landed for https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1476424, I don't see new crashes showing up for the last 2 days
