; Beta: Bugs and known issues have been identified and continue to be resolved. In Beta, the project focus moves towards polish and enhancements around UI and performance. There are typically multiple Beta releases before the software is performing exceptionally for the user, with no major bugs.
; RC: A Release Candidate (RC) is identified at the end of a Beta cycle. This is a build of the software that only requires minor updates and enhancements until it is ready to be publicly available for download and general use.
; GA: Final 1.0 version of Firefox is generally available Generally Available - a final officially-supported release to download and use.
