Panduan ini disusun untuk dapat digunakan oleh sukarelawan Mozilla dalam melakukan pelokalan proyek Mozilla menggunakan Bahasa Sunda.

== Palanggeran Basa Sunda untuk produk Mozilla ==

===== Pemilihan Kata =====
Pemilihan kata yang digunakan ketika menerjemahkan ke bahasa Sunda harus menggunakan bahasa yang setara (basa loma) agar secara bahasa, pengguna produk/proyek Mozilla merasa setara dan mudah dimengerti dengan aplikasi yang mereka gunakan. Sementara untuk keperluan lain seperti pemasaran, dapat menggunakan bahasa sebaya/semi formal atau menyesuaikan dengan sasaran pasar.

Gunakan bahasa setara/loma untuk proyek berikut:
* Firefox Rocket
* Firefox untuk iOS
* Focus untuk Android

Gunakan bahasa yang semi formal untuk proyek berikut:
* Konten untuk nawala
* Konten pemasaran
* Media sosial

===== Gaya Selingkung =====
Penerjemah menggunakan bahasa yang tidak mengandung bias, yang tidak mengacu kepada ras, etnik atau grup minoritas tertentu baik dalam hal representasi, stereotip, maupun eufemisme secara sengaja, yang mengarah pada bentuk penyerangan tertentu. Hindari penggunaan bahasa seperti itu ketika melakukan pelokalan.

Penerjemah diperbolehkan menggunakan bahasa percakapan, ekspresi dan kata-kata langka asal tidak berlebihan dan selama konteksnya tepat. Istilah yang hanya dimengerti lingkungan tertentu pun boleh digunakan dengan tujuan untuk melestarikan bahasa.

Penerjemah tidak diperbolehkan menggunakan bahasa slang dan puitis untuk menghindari kerancuan maksud bahasa.

Nada pelokalan ke Bahasa Sunda diusahakan menyerupai nada yang disampaikan produk/proyek Mozilla yang dimaksud, namun tetap penuh kehati-hatian terutama ketika menggunakan ekspresi.

Bahasa Sunda memiliki beberapa terjemahan untuk kata “You”, seperti “anjeun”, “manéh”, “didinya”, “salira” dan “hidep”. Dalam pelokalan, kata “You” diterjemahkan sebagai “Anjeun” - sebagai orang kedua tunggal.
