Community Roadmap

The Revamp

As you may or may not be aware Mozilla UK is undergoing a revamp to ensure that it stays relevant, up-to-date, and functional for the Mozilla community in the UK. To do this we have a small set of items that need completing, and we should do so by late February if all goes well.

Bellow is the list of tasks at a high level, each task has a due date for completion (recomended not firm), a short one line of the task, any comment the help describe what is needed, and a list of related resources that will help aid the completion of the task.

Full list of proposals (revamp and non-revamp related)

Format: [due date] task (comment)

  • [22/11/10] The sites core functionality (ie. the bare minimum)
  • [29/11/10] The domain name structure (recommended: following Mozilla on this one)
  • [13/12/10] The content overhaul and creation (already started)
  • [03/01/11] Theme tweaks (not redesign, just minor tweaks)
  • [10/01/11] Site downtime (a maintainance page should also be created for this task)
  • [24/01/11] Impliment changes (all of them, not just some)
  • [31/01/11] Relaunch site! (Yay!)
  • [02/11] Face-to-face meetup to work out long term plan (Double yay!)

The plan for completing these should follow loosely with the unix philosophy of doing one thing and doing it well. So we should do one task, do it well, then move to the next while taking the results of the previous into account.
