This page will track declaring the latest mozilla-beta build as the final in this cycle and starting the build off of the mozilla-release repository.

Please note that issues found in the final moments of the beta period may still require us to rebuild before release

Contents

[edit] Focus Areas

[edit] Tracking Details

Startup Crashes:

  • bug 715401 – Firefox Crash @ nsCanvasRenderingContext2DAzure::ClearRect with Yahoo Toolbar
    • This is our highest priority issue ahead of release
    • Bas has an idea for how to forward fix this, but we'd really only consider it if we had a repro case. We're still trying to find a backout to perform before Friday.
    • Can we push anything through an add-on hotfix prior to release targeting Yahoo Toolbar users?
  • bug 711656 – Firefox 11.0a1 Crash in TextStageManager::AddStagesForSubrect with Intel GMA X4500HD, 4500MHD, and HD Graphics up to 8.15.10.2141
    • Latest patch landed on mozilla-central doesn't appear to have fixed the issue, so this will likely go unfixed on FF11
  • bug 716391 – Firefox Startup crash @ je_free | xul.dll@0xbb...f | nsAppShell::`. deleting destructor(unsigned int) with various proxies
    • Not a FF11 regression, but it's a shame we didn't find the root cause

Blocklist Opportunities:

  • bug 715744 – DLL block request: BExternal.dll
    • BExternal.dll is strongly represented in bug 715757 and bug 721645
    • Pinged Ehsan to land on m-c and m-a today
    • Jorge let us know that this DLL is from older versions of Babylon, we're trying to find out which ones currently
  • bug 722538 – block AMD Radeon HD 6290/6300/6310/6320 for DIRECT2D
    • Can still be performed post-release
    • Difficult to push because we can't test with just our beta users, and we don't have a repro case

Other:

  • bug 730285 – No update channel is found after restoring the OS to a previous point.
    • This is of note because next week is Patch Tuesday

[edit] Outstanding Issues/Concerns - Mobile

  • bug 717904 - Add-ons Manager is broken after installing an extension with browser restart

[edit] Security

[edit] Current Status

  • The current state of FF11 is signed off

[edit] Outstanding Issues

The Pwn2Own contest is currently being held as part of the CanSecWest conference. It's possible one or more security vulnerabilities will be announced which might require a last-minute re-spin, or possibly a quick chemspill follow-up release. It's also possible nothing will be found, like last year. [Pwn2Own 2012]

  • We may know as early as today that a vulnerability was found
  • We will know for sure by EOD Friday how many vulns, if any, were found
  • We will not receive details on the vulnerabilities until after the contest ends on Friday, possibly not until early next week

[edit] Localization

[edit] Current Status

Strings for German arrived last minute (or post)
Ligurian goes through beta to release in 11, no changes to shipped-locales from beta to release for lij

[edit] Outstanding Issues/Concerns

Add Ligurian (lij) to product details, bug 733895
Mongolian and Swahili stay in beta, need shipped-locales change post release migration, bug 718778
