Context Does this challenge cover the entire initiative? Or does this challenge cover a subset or one piece of the overall program? Use this section to inspire, enable and support our volunteer communities to have real impact on our mission, starting with our 2014 goals.	[[Contribution_Challenge_Context::Mozilla already has a major initiative to enable local content creation, both with technology (Webmaker for Mobile), partnerships (GSMA and operators), and educational curriculum (Webmaker, web literacy). One of the critical things we know we need however is to ensure that the apps we build for users around the world work for those people, solve their needs, help them succeed. And we can’t do that without good, on-the-ground research about what real people need, want, etc. This is why we want to invite the whole Mozilla community worldwide to be part of this project, and allow users from all over the world to have a voice in how we build Webmaker for Mobile. We don’t just want to build a product for the next billion, we want to build it with them. This challenge is a significant part of the ground-research for Webmaker for Mobile. It will help us gather insights from a wide range of countries and benefit from the volunteer’s local expertise, leading to a better product.]]

Areas of scale and asynchronous activities are areas where volunteers can demonstrate leadership in ways that matter to all mozillians. This challenge enables volunteers to develop new valuable skills in research, testing and participatory design. This challenge enables volunteers to have a positive impact on the future of the web in emerging countries.]]

Approach What’s the approach? Do you have an existing process, system or framework to guide the contribution? What tools and resources will the community be provided? Contact collaborators and inject Webmaker Mobile Party plan into partners’ upcoming events. Draft simple teaching kit. 15min. chunks. Includes Entry / exit interviews. Webmaker for Mobile demo and user testing. Review teaching kit with an instructional designer (Sahid) Betatest the teaching kit. Preferably with partners. Iterate. (contribution here!) Train people on how to run the script. Target Reps and Webmaker Mentors at Mozfest. (contribution here!) Make a dashboard / report back system to assess the leadership and community building capacity of the training and efforts.
