Agenda/Notes
The MDN community meeting takes place in the #mdn channel on irc.mozilla.org at 10 AM PDT (18:00 UTC). See the meeting time in your time zone.
Introductions
- Since lots of people lurk in #mdn, if you're actively attending the meeting please speak up and introduce yourself.
- Attending:
- jswisher
- bassam
- Heather
- klez
- fscholz
- teoli
- Sheppy
Actions
Previous
- None, apparently
New/Continuing
- Anyone: read about Removing in-content iframes and help out by removing some; add strike-through style on list items as you deal with them.
News
Note items here that you want to be sure the community is aware of. We won't rehash what's listed here, but may raise and discuss questions about these items.
- Recent recognition awards
- MDN Star
- MDN Starter (not everybody who has been awarded this badge has accepted it)
- <iframe> eradication project
- Semi-urgent, in that the dev team is eager to disable iframes in content unless they're used from within a macro/template.
Topics for Discussion
Are you facing a challenge with something related to MDN, or need help from others in the community? Please bring it up for discussion.
- (jswisher) Badge criteria: How flexible should we be?
- FYI, small contributions are OK to nominate for the "MDN Starter" badge.
- Any first-time contribution that makes you think "ooh, nice one".
- What about ones (for MDN Starter) that are not actually the user's first contribution?
- Yes, if self-nominated, since the person obviously values badges.
- Are we grandfathering in long-time contributors? What about people who contributed long ago but haven't in a while?
- In general, not going back in time, but will consider <1 year (especially if self-nominated).
- Might add a 10th Anniversary badge, or "MDN Contributor in 2015".
- FYI, small contributions are OK to nominate for the "MDN Starter" badge.
- (teoli, fscholz) Update about JS translations.
- fscholz updated the sidebar for the JS section of MDN, to make it work better for partially-translated locales. For pages that are not translated in the current locale, it links to the en-US version, with "[translate]" next to it.
