As part of supporting the launch of Firefox OS and an ongoing desire to improve the usability of MDN, we'll be embarking on a site redesign in 2013.

High-Level Redesign Goals

  • Improve performance
  • Better site structure, navigation & ability to quickly find key content
  • Clearer separation of product and Open Web Content
  • Update the design to something dynamic, modern, & more consistent with the brand
  • Improve user experience & usability
  • Support Firefox OS and Apps
  • Improve SEO
  • More flexibility in how content is presented (especially the home page & landing pages)

  • Full Site Redesign/Rebranding - further refine global nav & homepage, new site design, restructure information architecture, new landing pages, new features
