Overview

We are working with an outside design firm to run ongoing A/B and multivariate tests on mozilla.com. Our first test will focus on en-US/firefox/ie.html.

Goal

Increase download conversion rate on en-US/firefox/ie.html

Requirements

All test variations must fit with the look and feel of mozilla.com and must be approved by our Creative Director, John Slater. That said, we are looking so significant changes to our current design.

Deliverables:

  • 2 (or more) mockups of a new landing page concept
  • Any associated image files needed to build the page

Evaluation

We will run an A/B test to evaluate the new design(s) against our current design. Download conversions is the most important (but not only) success metric.

Design Ideas

Layout

  • Vertical navigation [1]
  • Prominent Firefox screen shot [2], [3]
  • Promote awards above the fold [4]
  • Promote press links above the fold
  • New background image or no background image
  • Consolidate content (and increase page load speed) [5]
  • Decrease header size [6]
  • Incorporate "Faster, Safer, Smarter, Better" content above the fold

Button

  • Move to top of page [7]
  • Button copy

Other Ideas

  • Testimonials
  • Promote customization and add-ons
  • Video (?)
  • What is Firefox/What is a browser?
