This is looking really impressive so far, guys! I'm glad to see you've managed to maintain colour in the theme and still make it look native. My thoughts so far:
- I think Folletto's glass toolbar buttons look better (in mock-ups, at least). The matte whitish ones somehow look a bit too plain
- Hmm, I like the macbook keys. Otherwise it would be too shiny since OSX seems to move away from the shiny. Now it is nicely mixed :P Maybe I will try something else next time but I kinda fell in love with them JurMous
- But I think the less-saturated, slightly darker colours of JurMous's mock-ups fit the theme better. The lighter blue reload button reminds me too much of the toxic blue one we have in Fx 2 :) And the bright green on the location bar is a bit glary
- Philosophical arguments aside, I think tabs look strange being attached to the bookmarks toolbar. They're completely unrelated parts of the UI
- It is strange logically but aesthetically they look better there. And in every Apple app they are attached to top. So it would blend better on OSX.JurMous
- If the home button stays (and I hope it will) perhaps a different, unique, solid colour? We already have a lot of green on there
- Have you considered how it looks with the "standard" RSS icon, seeing that really is becoming a (de facto?) standard?
- Will try it next time.JurMous
- Bookmarks toolbar: in the mock-ups, how about adding a hover effect over one of the buttons, so we can see what they look like when active. Maybe a squarer, more space-efficient shape would look good with the new theme?
- Will try it next time JurMous
- I'd love to see a mock-up of the bookmarks toolbar with favicons restored, especially when the toolbar is full and it'll otherwise look like a grey jungle. This would also allow for an rss icon to be attached to livemarks, but still keep a dropmarker. The current solution (just having an rss icon AS the dropmarker) gives no suggestion that it's even a drop menu. Even if it ultimately doesn't fit the theme, I think it's worth investigating
- I think the favicons make the bookmark bar a color jungle. The bookmarks are there for when you need them and not constantly drawing attention. JurMous
