Currently Active Projects

J-PAKE (Philipp, Stefan, Tarek)

  • Last minute bug in the HKDF was discovered, Fx Home was adjusted to get interop
  • Landed in mozilla-central (thanks to heroic efforts from bsmith)
  • UI landed in Firefox and Fennec
  • Can now be deployed in Firefox-on-XULRunner too
  • DONE!

server side

Simplified Crypto (Richard)

  • v4 storage format contained bug in the HKDF (same as in J-PAKE)
  • Fix required revving to storage format v5.
  • Stable users will upgrade straight from v3 to v5.
  • Addressing some UX issues in b9.
  • DONE!

Account Management Portal (Toby)

  • Added needed encryption and no-http cookie layers to beaker. Submitted the patch through Tarek. Now need to add password to the session.
  • Going to add the ability to delete your Sync data as an option
  • Pulling the sync interaction parts out into their own module.

Sync Server 1.5 (Toby)

  • This can come off the list at this point.
  • DONE!

Node Management (Toby)

  • Awaiting ops prioritization

Next-gen Server (Tarek)

  • Still waiting for some reviews
  • Forward-porting latest PHP changes
  • need to add the memcached/json support as an option

Identity Server (Tarek, JR)

  • Capacity plan in progress

Firefox Home 1.1 (Stefan)

  • DONE!

Places GUID revamp (sdwilsh, Philipp)

  • Landed on places branch two weeks ago
  • Patches to use Places GUIDs pushed to fx-sync
  • Places branch merged to mozilla-central last week
  • DONE!

App performance issues due to Places (sdwilsh)

  • sdwilsh started work on async history API this week
  • async bookmark API low prio, might not happen for 4.0
