Firefox Aurora for Android Test Day

Welcome to the Firefox Aurora for Android Test Day event where we will be taking a close look at the quality and state of the daily Aurora release on the Aurora channel.

Activities

Activity 1: Run the Firefox 12 Smoketests

For mobile please consider these test cases : https://litmus.mozilla.org/run_tests.cgi?test_run_id=397 for phones and https://litmus.mozilla.org/run_tests.cgi?test_run_id=398 for tablets/

Activity 2: Try out some new features

As the application is completely new, any workaround other than the testcases will be helpful for us.

Activity 3: Verify some fixed bugs

• Use this bug query to find a bug to test: http://bit.ly/yPdwEc (Same link for mobile also)
• Read the bug to understand the steps to reproduce and the conditions to test
• Test the bug on an older build to verify you can see the bug
• Test the bug on Firefox 12.0a2 to verify it is fixed
• Comment in the bug what you did to test and the result of your testing, add [testday-20120210] to the whiteboard field
• Write the bug number and result below your name in this Etherpad

Activity 4: Exploratory Testing

Do some exploratory testing around several critical areas:

• Panning and zooming - large pages,
• Sync - please make a backup of your data (desktop bookmarks) before using the new version.
• Web Compatibility - test the build against the most used pages for your daily browsing -> https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Evangelism#Site_Testing
• Activity 5: Confirm some unconfirmed bugs
• Find a bug in this query: http://bit.ly/UnconfirmedFennec
• Test to see if you can confirm the bug is happening
• Report the Firefox version, platform, and steps to reproduce
• Add the [testday-20120210] whiteboard tag
