Intro

WebIDE feature replaces App Manager and enables user to run and debug Firefox OS apps using Firefox OS Simulator or a real Firefox OS device.

Testing Approach

For WebIDE we are testing each option provided using all available simulators and a Firefox OS device.

WebIDE window can be opened either by going through Web Developer menu and selecting WebIDE option, either by using Shift+F8 shortcut:

Requirements

The WebIDE is available from Firefox 34 onwards.

It can also be enabled in Firefox 33, by changing the preference devtools.webide.enabled to true in about:config.

For Firefox OS devices, a device running Firefox OS 1.2 or later and a USB cable are needed.
