we are reading and writing in prod to/from s3. turning off hbase is blocked on moving correlations and module list. patch by end of the week?
hbase is being slowed down by our testing protocol. We feel confident turning that off now, though.

IT is imposing a change freeze from 23 through 28 December and 31 December through 2 January.
