# Decide on a number of specific broad values or goals that is the most important to the organization. These can include legacy goals and new ones for the specific planning period. There should be roughly 3-5 of these goals that cover all of the major priorities of the organization. It is also important to make sure these goals are distinct, real, and clear to everyone. If the goals for the organization are already created, then this step is already done.
