Not sure if now is the time to talk technical details, but here goes.
Right now the proposed status flags, in-triage and ready, sort of sound like bug statuses to me. A bug moves from UNCONFIRMED to in-triage to ready to NEW or ASSIGNED. While I'm not crazy about adding more statuses, I'm also wary of tracking state in multiple places.
Also when you say flags, I don't understand how these things map to Bugzilla's tri-state flag system ("?", "+", and "-"). But perhaps you just meant keywords?
