B2gdroid

Presentation

B2GDroid is an Android homescreen that provides the same user experience as Firefox OS. It's a GeckoView consumer with Gaia pre-packaged, and as many b2g APIs as possible.

Building

1. Clone the Mozilla source tree

$ hg clone https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central

2. In the Mozilla source tree, run `./mach bootstrap` and select build "Firefox for Android". This will install the necessary Android SDKs and the Android NDK.
(For this step to install all the necessary tools you need the patch here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1205405)

$ cd mozilla-central
$ ./mach bootstrap

  1. Firefox for Desktop
  2. Firefox for Android

3. Manually install version 22.0.1 of the Android SDK Support package. See https://mobile.etherpad.mozilla.org/109 for details.
4. Apply the b2gbuild patch attached to Bug #1199720
5. Clone the repository containing the fonts used in FirefoxOS from https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/moztt and make sure the environment variable `MOZTTDIR` is assigned the moztt directory.
