Mobile Testing Workshop

This will be hands on testing session where users will have test with tablets and Phones. We will introduce participants to tools that will provide developers with more useful information in the case of crashes or problems on their mobile device.

We will introduce users to the exciting world of Firefox development and contributing code.

Crash Investigation and Analysis

Some of the work we do with the Socorro tool involves creating algorithms to track crash data. In this workshop Robert Kaiser will describe how he created some of the algorithms that we use on a daily basis to diagnose crashes.

Evaluating HTML 5 Web Apps Quality on our Platform

Goal: Provide context into how to determine web application quality running within our platform to promote understanding on how to evaluate HTML 5 applications and how they link to the open web apps experience

Requirements for Workshop

Pre-requisite presentation - Provide context into the HTML 5 experience and how we evaluate our platform against those requirements Workshop - Give participants a list of HTML 5 Web Apps pre-built together (could also include real top apps, but that needs a blessing from Ron). Participants then would need to first install the apps on both desktop and mobile and run them off the respective platform. They'll then play around the application and need to capture problems that may going on in the application that does not meet the vision of a HTML 5 Web Apps experience. They will need to figure out then how to debug the problem - What's not working? Websockets? File Chooser? Last, they'll need to debug whether it's a problem in firefox itself vs. a problem a developer made with the application. Last, they'll need to make judgment calls on what they think the quality of the application is on the platform and why.
