Māori (mi,mi-NZ)

Guidelines for use of language codes

mi: It's use is discouraged. Instead the mi-NZ language code should be used.

mi-NZ: Should refer specifically to the standard te reo Māori o Aotearoa promoted by Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori - The Māori Language Commission.

mi-NZ-X-<iwi or region>: Can be used to refer to a localization (translation) specific to a particular region or iwi. e.g. mi-NZ-X-tai_tokerau or mi-NZ-X-tuhoe.; This standard is still being decided upon for compatibility with Mozilla software, and is subject to change.
