Firebug Releases

  • Firebug 1.12.8
  • Firebug 2 alpha 2
    • Honza: do the release
    • Honza: try to get some stats, ask Jeff
    • Think about beta next week.

Miscellaneous

  • Issue 7194: Add a preference for the indentation in the Command Editor
    • use just one pref, set to 4 by default
  • Feedback from Sören:
    • On OS X the window buttons should be at the left like in other windows. This would also avoid confusion with the search buttons.
    • Tab text should be vertically centered with the toolbar icons.
    • Marking of executable lines is unreliable and should be removed until it's fixed.
    • No negative feedback

Firebug 2 Blockers

FBTest

  • Still the top priority
    • Analyses random failures
    • Create new tests
    • Honza: close the JSD2 FBTest issue

e10s

  • Firebug needs to have unique features
  - AngularJS, BackboneJS, jQuery, etc.
  - Client-server seamless debugging
  • We want to cooperate more with the DevTools team
  • We want to reuse existing component and API
  • Firebug want to reuse backend actors as well as front-end client objects
  • Firebug needs to adopt e10s and DevTools are already ready. Ideally we built Firebug on top of DevTools
  • Honza: Kick off a thread on FWG, how to enable e10s, testing
  • Joe: what Mozilla is doing to inform extension developer about e10s
  • We need good migration page
  • we can use our Extension spreadsheet again
