Overview
Maker Party is Mozilla’s annual global campaign to teach the web through hands-on learning and making, from now until September 15, the Webmaker community, along with educators, organizations and enthusiastic web users, will be teaching and learning the web in hundreds of classrooms and cafes, libraries and living rooms all around the world. It’s all part of our effort to teach the culture, mechanics and citizenship of the web.
Mozilla believes success in the 21st century depends on digital literacy: the skills people need to read, write and participate on the web. Maker Party focuses on teaching these skills in a fun, hands-on way. Participants meet up with others at events of all sizes to explore the how and why of building apps and webpages with code, design, media and interactive elements.

MozCamp Beta is an experiment. This is the first time Mozilla is testing how to train contributors to bring in more contributors across the project.
This agenda was developed in collaboration with volunteer and paid contributors together with local community members to focus on building community and recruiting new contributors into specific pathways.
We're testing general sessions on storytelling and community building as well as breakout contribution area tracks.
Because MozCamp Beta is being held in India in anticipation of the launch of Mozilla's $25 smartphone, there's a special focus of this content on Firefox OS and engagement with the new phone. Firefox OS specific content is being developed specifically for the Indian region and this Beta event.
Most content however will be tested in India for future MozCamps, and iterated upon based on what we learn at the Beta and in subsequent results metrics and feedback.
Please join us this weekend with an open mind and experimental spirit. We are all learning!

Train the Trainer
- Description:' This session is about Appmaker and how a community of designers, testers, developers, and otherwise app-makers can contribute to the project. Participants will learn what Appmaker is, how it works, and how to be a part of the various contribution pathways which are in the works.

- Description: The goal of this session is to collaborate on crafting personally meaningful and engaging stories about Mozilla, to enable each participant to confidently describe Mozilla and it's mission to anybody (regardless of familiarity with the web!).

- Description: This is a ninety minute session during the Mozcamp Beta to develop skills in recruiting new community members, share out about successful community building strategies being used in India now, and introduce people to a menu of actions that they can use in their local communities after the training event.
