[18:31] <mschroeder> hi ulf_ [18:32] <mschroeder> So, let's start the QA chat. [18:32] <ulf> hi mschroeder [18:33] <mschroeder> We had a test day last Tuesday, and there were no new blockers found. [18:35] <ulf_> that's good news [18:35] <mschroeder> We had some new participants and run a total of 108 Litmus testcases. [18:36] <mschroeder> ause create the release branch today and now we're waiting for the RC1. [18:36] <mschroeder> sorry, has created [18:37] <mschroeder> I don't know if anybody checked the language versions of Sunbird on the test day. [18:37] <mschroeder> But I think we'll get more attention with the announcement of RC1. [18:38] <ulf_> mschroeder: will we do a kind of quick sanity check of ause's RC1 builds before uploading and announcing? [18:39] <mschroeder> ulf_: We should, but I don't know exactly when the RC1 will be ready. [18:39] <ssitter> when will the changes for building rc1 take place? later today or tomorrow? [18:40] <ulf_> the release branch is opened and the tinderboxes are runnig afaik [18:40] <mschroeder> ssitter: ause told me "tomorrow" a minute ago [18:41] <ulf_> mschroeder: I can ask ause to to let me know when the first builds are ready [18:41] <ssitter> yes, a branch was created but I don't see any tinderbox changes yet [18:41] <ssitter> mschroeder: thanks [18:41] <mschroeder> ulf_: that would be perfect [18:42] <mschroeder> I don't know how much time for testing I'll have tomorrow. [18:42] <ulf_> I'll have a look on them for sure [18:43] <mschroeder> thanks for that [18:43] <mschroeder> ssitter: I hope you have some time to smoketest the RC1 candidate. [18:43] <ulf_> anyone else to volunteer w. the fresh RC bits? [18:45] <ulf_> I'm almost pretty sure we'll again see some smaller build issues, like wrong brand etc [18:46] <mschroeder> Should we have another test day next week or in two weeks again? [18:46] <ulf_> hence I don't really expect to have the RC completely uploaded by tomorrow [18:46] <ulf_> mschroeder: a test day on the RC is a good thing for sure! [18:47] <ctalbert> I'll check out the RC bits as soon as I see them [18:47] <mschroeder> Maybe we get enough testers by announcing the RC1. But I'll talk to sipaq to combine RC1 & testday announcement. [18:47] <ssitter> ulf_: as I understand ause will make the changes like switching to build from 0.7 branch, enable official branding, change update channel, etc. tomorrow [18:47] <ulf_> mschroeder: great [18:48] <ulf_> ssitter: sounds good - [18:48] <ssitter> if this all is done until 3:00 PDT we might have a RC [18:48] <mschroeder> So, we're going to have an additional official testday next Tuesday. [18:49] <ulf_> I was just a bit sceptic as it is the first real live RC for ause [18:49] <ulf_> mschroeder: absolutely fine w. me! [18:50] <mschroeder> Anything to add regarding testdays or RC1? [18:51] <ulf_> nightly looks promising atm, no further blockers, I think we're fine for RC [18:52] <mschroeder> We have some time left. ;) Should we look at some bug list, e.g. [qa discussion needed]? [18:54] <ulf_> has anyone specific bugs (s)he wants to discuss? [18:54] <Fallen> yes, bug 320173 [18:54] <firebot> Fallen: Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=320173 nor, --, ---, nobody@mozilla.org, NEW, new views do not support pasting of events [18:54] <Fallen> I was wondering if thats still relevant [18:54] <Fallen> since it seems to work for me [18:56] <mschroeder> It works for me in Lightning on WinXP. [18:57] <mschroeder> and Sunbird also. [18:57] <ulf_> wfm on Solaris (Lightning) too [18:57] <mschroeder> Where is the handler code? [18:58] <Fallen> checking [18:59] <Fallen> http://lxr.mozilla.org/mozilla/source/calendar/lightning/content/messenger-overlay-sidebar.js#138 for lightning [18:59] <Fallen> fixed by bug 367110 for lightning I guess [18:59] <firebot> Fallen: Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367110 nor, --, ---, michael.buettner@sun.com, RESO FIXED, Missing Thunderbird integration for copy/paste [19:01] <Fallen> thanks for testing, I'm marking WFM [19:02] <mschroeder> okay [19:02] <firebot> philipp@bugzilla.kewis.ch set the Resolution field on bug 320173 to WORKSFORME. [19:02] <Fallen> done, feel free to verify [19:03] <mschroeder> any other bug? :) [19:04] <sipaq> hi guys [19:04] <Fallen> Thats all I had in mind for now :) [19:04] <ulf_> hi Sipaq [19:04] <mschroeder> hi Sebo [19:04] <mschroeder> hi sipaq [19:04] <Fallen> but maybe there are more, I'm looking through the lists [19:05] <Sebo> hi [19:05] <ulf_> hi Sebo [19:07] <ulf_> Sipaq, Sebo; do you have any critical bugs or issues regarding RC1 you want to discuss [19:08] <Sebo> no, apart from bug 397559, which is denied, I'm fine. [19:08] <firebot> Sebo: Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397559 maj, --, ---, daniel.boelzle@sun.com, NEW, missing start date generates a cryptic exception. Didn't error out in 0.5 [19:09] <ulf_> we had that on the test day, right? [19:09] <Sebo> yes, it was found on the test day. [19:09] <sipaq> ulf_: no, not really. I think I know all the bad ones already :) [19:10] <ulf_> sipaq: cool, and you're still able to sleep at night? :-) [19:10] * mschroeder always dreams of timezones. [19:10] <Fallen> I can only find non-important ones right now... bug 199422: It seems the core issue was fixed there. The remaining comments only bring up different bugs/issues. I think this should be closed [19:10] <firebot> Fallen: Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=199422 nor, --, ---, nobody@mozilla.org, NEW, some details are lost when you Copy/Paste an event [19:11] <ulf_> mschroeder: good point [19:11] <ulf_> I really do think we should spend some time on TZ on the next test day [19:11] <Fallen> hell yeah, I had this nightmare where I was trying to escape the timezones. They started moving, so I had to try to stay in my timezone, so I can fix them on time :) [19:12] <sipaq> ulf_: I'm with the project long enough, that I know of bugs that were much worse than those now :) [19:13] <mschroeder> I woke up one night, my girlfriend asked me what time it is and I asked her for what timezone she wants to know the time. [19:13] <Sebo> sipaq: are there plans for the calendar faq? [19:13] <ulf_> mschroeder: lol, awsome [19:14] <sipaq> Sebo: that's been on my todo list for an overhaul for quite some time [19:14] <Fallen> bug 183396: I agree to ssitter, that we can close the bug [19:14] <firebot> Fallen: Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183396 tri, --, ---, nobody@mozilla.org, NEW, Disallow users to add events/tasks after deleting the last calendar [19:14] <Fallen> all agree? [19:14] <sipaq> Sebo: If you want to volunteer, I'll buy you a beer on the next F2F meeting [19:14] <ulf_> Fallen: +1 [19:14] <Sebo> sipaq: not enough ;-) [19:15] <sipaq> Sebo: BTW I re-added bug 314339 [19:15] <firebot> sipaq: Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314339 nor, P1, 0.9, ctalbert@mozilla.com, ASSI, need to handle non-native timezone bits [19:15] <sipaq> Sebo: all right: two beers [19:15] <mschroeder> 183396 close +1 [19:16] <Sebo> no, I've got no time to do all of it. I could do one part, though. [19:16] <firebot> philipp@bugzilla.kewis.ch set the Resolution field on bug 183396 to INVALID. [19:17] <Fallen> bug 315664: definitly extension fodder ? [19:17] <firebot> Fallen: Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=315664 enh, --, ---, nobody@mozilla.org, UNCO, Need dockable "sticky pads" like Outlook has [19:18] <mschroeder> Fallen: +1 [19:18] <firebot> philipp@bugzilla.kewis.ch set the Resolution field on bug 315664 to WONTFIX. [19:18] <ulf_> Fallen: +1 [19:20] <Fallen> bug 387238: Since trunk is not supported right now, -> INCOMPLETE (or whatever else, nothing seems to fit right) [19:20] <firebot> Fallen: Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387238 maj, --, ---, nobody@mozilla.org, NEW, upgrading from 0.5rc2 to 0.6a1 causes double error about calendar which is read-only [19:21] <mschroeder> Fallen: imo INVALID because it's no supported update patch [19:22] <mschroeder> path [19:22] <Sebo> But one day we need to go this path [19:23] <mschroeder> Sebo: but with other versions of Sunbird [19:23] <Sebo> sure, but the bug may still be existent [19:24] <Sebo> the title could be changed to "upgrading from branch to trunk" [19:24] <mschroeder> If you want to keep it, set Trunk as version, remove whiteboard and maybe change summary :) [19:28] <Sebo> done. [19:28] <mschroeder> Sebo: thanks. [19:30] <mschroeder> Time is up. That's the end of the QA chat. Thank you all for participating and don't forget to smoketest RC1. :)
