Meeting Log

  • Participants: sipaq, berend, mschroeder, dbo, davida. dmose, bbrowning, clarkbw
  • sipaq works on release notes, will post/ask for relnote-nomination.
  • A lengthy discussion about blocking list:
    • sipaq has concerns that the whole caldav scheduling bug story won't end.
    • Daniel currently refactors the whole iTIP/iMIP code, finding more flaws and spec-violating bugs. The basic background behind that is that we need the same code in the caldav sched world, and duplication doesn't seem to be the right thing, especially w.r.t. maintainance. The changes are pretty disruptive, and possibly cause more regressions.
    • We got to a consensus that caldav scheduling is too immature to be switched on by default in 0.9 and thus opted to turn it off (by pref).
    • There are two more bugs/enhancements from Wolfgang we appreciate for the release, improving caldav performance. We need to be careful w.r.t. regressions.
  • David eagerly asks when we could move onto hg, so we could start with changes for tb3, e.g. streamline build stuff. The earlier the better to get thunderbird people involved and up to speed.
    • We think that RC1 might be a good point, since presumably only little changes come in after that, and those could easily be ported manually.
  • TB Integration discussion:
    • Basically thunderbird is heading for the "Future concept" in 3.0, i.e. a largely reduced toolbar.
    • We agreed two toolbars look odd.
    • Bryan thinks a unified menu that does not change/switch in different tabs is best; new proposal.
    • The today-pane is yet to be figured out how to fit in.
    • Bryan and Christian will talk about the UI beginning of next week.
  • gozer prefers to run the hg lightning boxes on MOME machines, so we presumably just switch our lightning trunk boxes off when doing the hg move.
