General

Socorro

  • I talked about this in the Platform meeting last week, since we didn't meet due to the holiday, but we lost data for 20 minutes from 2013-08-28 16:14:19,783 to 2013-08-28 16:35:08,147 PST due to a configuration issue. Postmortem notes
  • Released version 58 last week
  • Backup problems: no effective Postgres backups *again*. Following up with IT
  • Top-crashers-by-bug: priority?
    • KaiRo to file a bug on getting a Socorro page that can list all signatures for a bug with their topcrash ranks in active releases.
  • Start thinking about Q4 goals - short quarter anyway and Summit makes it more so.

Flash

  • First beta of 11.9 has been released, some regressions filed as bugs.
  • Now that it has been with the general population for a bit, it looks like 11.8 is slightly better again compared to 11.7 in hangs. The crash fix for 11.8 regression bug 888616 unfortunately was not shipped to the masses yet, so it's very slightly worse than 11.7 from what it looks like in our data.

Desktop

  • Ted could get new MS symbols uploaded after problems with bug 907280 and did run into another problem (bug 913864), but we have those for the current libraries, so signatures changed accordingly (on Fri, Sep 6).
  • On all channels bug 871249 NEW crash with many open tabs (due to pdf.js?)
    • may be an OOM crash. Is this something to track?

Beta

  • bug 912110 NEW crash in nsXPCWrappedJS::Release() with DatamngrHlpFF24.dll (Bandoo)
    • Beside the above tab/pdf/oom crasher, this is the top crasher on Beta
  • bug 911502
    • Backout : bug 881634 - crash in mozilla::gfx::DrawTargetSkia::DrawSurface ?

Aurora

  • Anthony spotted mozilla::dom::indexedDB::PIndexedDBCursorParent::GetIPCChannel() showed up on one build, (20130829004002)
    • we're not filing a bug at this time as it should eventually drop off the top crash report.
  • bug 800347 crash in mozilla::ipc::RPCChannel::OnMaybeDequeueOne
    • already a top-crash (#3) but seems to have doubled in explosiveness since Sept 7 on Aurora
    • Roc does not believe this to be correlated to OMTC (Mac-only) since the majority of crashes are on Windows
    • potential to become much louder once we hit Beta

Trunk

  • topcrash FIXED - bug 911256 - mostly "startup" crash in sqlite3_finalize
  • FIXED bug 911204 - Thumbnail Zoom Plus crashes Nightly 0830 build
    • Will keep an eye on to see which variations of the signature this fixed. So far it's looking good on builds after Sept. 3rd.

Mobile

  • Nightly updates have been broken for the weekend bug 913842
    • need to file new crashers once updates are back on
  • Last beta. Expecting an uptick in crashes per 100 ADU due to bugs mentioned in previous meetings

B2G

  • Quality-oriented work week in Oslo this week, 1.2 being frozen soon, will be interesting how it does in stability after such a huge Gecko version shift (18->26).

1.2

    • bug 901226 - crash in liboemcamera.so@0x116bc
  • bug 878366 - crash on abort in mozilla::dom::ContentChild::ProcessingError

  • BT Crashes:
