Last week:

  • Q4 Planning - WebGL2, WASM and Servo Integration work
  • Began learning WASM
  • Started work with Marketing and WASM team to plan out video series
  • Reviewed RUST video series
  • Met with Games team and Platform to plan out work for WebGL2
  • Started 2017 budgeting
  • Setup travel for all things open and connect.tech

Last week:

  • Brief talk on Service Workers at Twin Ports Web Pros meetup in northern Minnesota.
  • The 0xb -> 0xc update to WebAssembly killed my week.
    • Last-minute rescue of Jason Boch's VSLive talk on Wasm by using an older build of Firefox
    • Having to re-learn everything for my Wasm talk tomorrow (Wasm is now a stack machine, not an AST, etc.)
    • Had to recompile the world, lots of key things (binaryen / spidermonkify) still broken
    • In-browser APIs also changed in backwards incompatible ways (no more Wasm.instantiateModule), so emscripten isn't working either

  • Fixed speaker calendar import script, was executing too many calls too fast.
  • Reviewed some CFPs for Tech Speakers
  • Mass closure of all 2014/2015 events request bugs (WTF)

  • Mozfestation: Got builds working for ios and android, added new header image, added beacon count to header, only record and show beacons with mozfest URL, sending found beacons to server, only send to server if a mozfest URL, only send to server if never discovered before, show install id in settings, added data persistence for beacons, changed app icons and splash screens for ios and android, changed app store icons for Apple/Play stores, added notes for when mozfest hasn’t started yet and during mozfest dates but nothing found, submitted apps to Apple and Play stores, got leaderboard working in the sheet.
