PROJECTS

Drumbeat.org 2011 Roadmap -- Paul Osman

  • Paul presented plan for drumbeat.org site reboot
    • http://eval.ca/update2011/
    • Need to add theory of change for drumbeat.org
      • Will help get new kinds of people contributing to Mozilla and the web
      • Also: trying to influence how people think about building social web sites
        • Modeling a better way to build social web apps
        • Not a walled garden but an open system based on standards
        • You don't need to do everything on this web site
        • Show what this looks like when you do things completely in the open
      • Help technologists and non-tech people work together
        • How will Bataucada help do this?
        • Should have theory and metrics around participation
        • A 'job board but less lame'
    • Should talk more about 2010 achievements
      • What user levels did we get to? What community progress did we make?
    • Need to add in description of value proposition
      • How does it help people who have Drumbeat projects?
      • What does it do for people who want to help w/ Drumbeat projects?
    • What SPECIFIC things do we want to make progress on 2011
      • Let people bring their social graph from others sites
      • A 'job board but less lame'
      • Simple way for people to represent your drumbeat.org content on another site
      • What else? Tie into Mozilla labs work in 2011? Tie into badges?
      • A visual roadmap would help with this
