The social contributor tool will allow us to amplify the number of users we can reach on social media by allowing our volunteers to translate and schedule social media posts in advance. We'll be able to reach a much larger audience by publishing content in several languages on a regular basis. Also, contributors will be able to easily reply to comments and tweets from the tool.

Features

  • Users have have explicit access to drafting, approving, OR publishing posts for certain locales. Example: A contributor may have drafting access for Spanish, but they cannot approve or publish posts.
  • Upcoming social post content can be added for review and scheduled
  • A post can be translated by a contributor, added for review and scheduled
  • Moderators can approve posts
  • Scheduled posts are automatically posted at the set date and time
  • Facebook posts can be targeted to specific locales or geographies
  • Twitter posts will be assigned to the Twitter account for a given locale (Ex: @Firefox_pt for Portuguese posts)
  • Users can view Facebook and Twitter comments/replies for the accounts they look after.
  • Users can reply to comments/replies using signpost messages, similar to Army of Awesome, or with their own responses.
