Stage 1: Definition

1. Feature overview

Current options for managing add-ons installed by third parties and system administrators are limited. We allow disabling but not uninstalling. These add-ons are still in the way and users do not want to see them anymore. We should allow uninstalling these add-ons by making the remove button simply hide them from the list. The user should be given a way to re-install these add-ons, the Available Add-ons section has been suggested.

This feature falls primarily in the Experience category (from the "Discover, Experience, and Connect" vision statement.)

2. Users & use cases

  • The remove button for third-party add-ons should appear to work the same as for normal add-ons
  • Available Add-ons should include hidden third party add-ons on the system

3. Dependencies

`

4. Requirements

  • Developed UI must pass UI review
  • Feature should be covered by automated tests

Non-goals

  • Support removing other applications on the system from within Firefox
