Practical Information

FOSSasia 2016 is taking place in Singapore, from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th March. See http://fossasia.org/ Mozilla presence this year will be with speakers in different tracks.

Registration

As a Free event, no formal registration is needed to attend FOSSAsia. If you are a Mozilla Rep or have an Mozillians.org profile, you can say you are attending on the Event page.

Sponsorship for Travel and Accommodation

This year Mozilla’s presence will not include the event sponsorship, our approach is to focus on a few solid talks and some experiments to reach out to developers.

For that reason we will be covering 4 to 6 volunteers to attend and give a talk at the event.

All sponsored Reps will be covered Travel and Accommodation, as also expenses at Singapore.

Travel Policy

In order to have clarity about what Mozilla will be covering for FOSSASIA 2016, please read carefully. If you have any inquiry or question, don’t hesitate to contact Francisco Picolini (franc at mozilla.com).

What will be covered by Mozilla:

• Flight from your city to Singapore. If you need to travel from your city to an international Airport, please indicate before booking your flight. We will not be able to reimburse you afterwards if you don’t let us know before booking about your complete itinerary.
• Accommodation at Singapore for the days of the event. If you are going to stay longer, it won’t be covered by Mozilla. We will be arranging an hotel for the sponsored participants.
• Transport from Airport to hotel, and hotel to Airport
• 10 SGD MRT card to travel in Singapore
• Food during the event (15 SGD per meal per person)
• Transport to your local airport up to 30 USD

What we won’t be covering this time:

• Visa fees, and everything related to visas (due time constraints, we won’t be able to help on visa process)
• Food at arrival or departure airport, and at layovers
• Extra nights at Singapore
• Last minute changes
• Medical insurance
• Passport renewal (if you need to do a new passport, or if your passport has expired).
