Daily Standup Meetings

  1. If you're not available for a standup that you're scheduled to host, then ask for someone else to host instead for just that time.
  2. Start by pinging everyone who should be participating.
  3. List any administrative items you have, and then ask for more from other people (look at the Etherpad).
  4. Look at the list of blockers and blocker nominations and see if there's anything new or that needs action. Mention these during this time.
  5. Move to individual updates. Go alphabetically, in descending order.
  6. If someone's update is taking longer than 3-4 minutes, you should generally cut them off and ask them to talk about it after the standup.
  7. Copy the reports from the GDoc to the wiki page for that day. Use the Etherpad-to-Wiki converter to format it. You can just copy and paste the whole thing and the converter will do everything for you.
  8. Ask the person who should be hosting the week after you if they'll be available. If not, move onto the next person.

      • We have a manifest localization process that needs to be done with this. I had to make some changes to the manifest to get it to localize properly. It turns out, you need to have some content in the en-US tag for it to localize the manifest at all. This is not documented at all.
      • I have made some changes to the CallScreenWindow and AttentionWindow.js to fix this. I’m working on the remaining part which is to make the notification update on change of language. Currently, this notification that shows up in the Update section only is updated on startup. I’m trying to get together a WIP and get some feedback from etienne_s as he’s on system app.

  • <gsvelto> As a follow up to the v3 plans discussion of last week we should probably open a bug to mop up our CSS rules (in fact we might already have one). This goes hand in hand with re-thinking the way we lay out elements in the callscreen. The dialer is not in such a bad shape expect maybe for the call log; the callscreen is the biggest offender here IMHO.
  • <gsvelto> A few thoughts about using the emulator for development: I've been extensively using the x86 emulator this week and while it can be useful for callscreen development it still has a few quirks. I wouldn't recommend it yet but if you need to test 5-way conference calls or other funky scenarios it's probably your best bet anyway.
