Risk
Rendering and graphics, specificly OMTC
- This area was a significant issue for Fennec so it will be monitored.
- Nick is new to the Graphics team is doing the refactoring, Bas is helping him on the design and will be doing the Direct3D11 implementation for Metro.
- The work in progress is happening on the Graphics branch. (https://hg.mozilla.org/projects/graphics)
- 2012-12-30 date: Still think it -can- be done but it's definitely not a 'sure hit'.
- Bug 804893 - Refactor shadow layers <== not needed for metro (in the form of this bug, at least)
- Bug 804905 - Remove shadow layers <== not needed for metro (in the form of this bug, at least)
- Bug 756608 - [Meta] Implement OMTC for Direct3D 9 <== not needed
- Bug 756606 - [Meta] Implement OMTC for Direct3D 10 < == Bas has decided to move forward forward with Direct 3D 11
- Conclusion: risk profile is medium to high.
- Next steps: triage/clean up bugs, get a sense of what is "testable" on the graphics branch. If not anything, now, define what will be (and when).
- Mitigation: Monitor next milestone and report on progress
- Mitigation: Focus on user stories for sync and shared profile requirements.
- Mitigation: Make sure that Johnathan and Mike Connor are in the loop on this.
- Mitigation: Sync 1.0 and profile maybe the way to go.
High Resolution Monitor Support may be an issue and should be investigate
- Likely candidate to do this work is jkew; the readability 2.0 meeting for Fx Android is tomorrow and Jet and I agreed we would bring this effort up to get an understanding of scope.
- Stay tuned for an estimate. :)
Themed/hoverable anonymous scrollbars for content
