Title of Session (should also be the title of your Wiki page): L10n using mercurial - From sunrise to sunset

Facilitator(s): Milos Dinic

Are you paid or volunteer staff?: Paid staff

Area of Contribution (Team Name): Localization

How are you currently involved with the community?: Actively mentoring new locales and new l10n contributors. Gate-keepers to new locale releases.

Location of Work (where do you reside?): Serbia

Talk Length (please choose between 30, 60, 90, 120 minutes): 60

Summary: As part of the team that determines which new locales move through the release channels, we want to get localizers familiar with using Mercurial, compare-locales, and the l10n dashboard. As there are many Asian l10n teams looking to get their work on the release train, we also want to help explain how repositories work and what their hg pushes to their repositories affect in their localizations.

How your session furthers the MozCamp Goals: By providing this workshop, we're able to go over many of the more difficult tasks involved in localizing Firefox to many of the new locales looking to get on board the release train. We hope that this will cut down time to release for them, thus promoting Firefox Desktop in more places and in more languages throughout the world.

Expected Outcome or Deliverable: A shorter time to release for the new locales that attend, as we'll be covering Mercurial, command-line tools, and the areas of the l10n process that are most pertinent to their successful releases.

Desired Audience Type or Skill-set: Anyone who is unfamiliar with these tools or this process and must use them.
