Program Description

Over the air software update to become the key methodology for updating software releases on the device.


Medium term goals: (beyond 2.5):

Define legal/technical/architectural/UX framework to allow deployment of SW updates over the air to end users Measure effectiveness of SW updates via metrics

Long term goals:

OTA updates should be workable on various devices. Being able to update image to the firefox OS devices which aren't provided by Mozilla. Based on users' devices, Mozilla will provide a OTA lists for users, users can choose any image from this list to update their devices. To provide a component-based update mechanism Being able to just update a specific components without updating whole image.
