Tree Logistics

  • mozilla-central (trunk) is now being used for Gecko 1.9.2
  • releases/mozilla-1.9.1 (firefox 3.1 branch) is being used for Gecko 1.9.1
  • patches should land on mozilla-central first, then mozilla-1.9.1
  • bugs should be marked FIXED when landed on mozilla-central, add fixed-1.9.1 keyword when landed on mozilla-1.9.1

Triage, Triage, Triage

  • as discussed last week, all component leads should be re-triaging their lists of blockers for this Thursday
    • P1 = blocks Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 (needs beta exposure)
    • P2 = blocks Firefox 3.1 RC1 (mustfix before final)
    • P3-5 = pre-approved for landing / can fix in security-stability release
  • do we need to set times for this?

Beta 2

  • one respin was required to rename it to Beta 2
  • QA is running ahead of schedule
  • new features to call attention to in web content:
    • web worker threads
    • private browsing
    • tracemonkey on by default
    • downloadable fonts

  • tree re-opening caused a drop in blockers
  • the conversion rate from nominations-to-blockers indicates that our actual blocker number is probably around 300 or so
  • need to complete the re-triage by Thursday

Firefox 3.1 Update

  • front end performance meeting taking place right after this one, we'll use the same dial in, pizza available!
  • Places
    • 18 blockers, 7 P1. Most of the P1s have patches in varying stages from WIP to in-review.
