Smoketests

Smoketests Softvision Every Beta

Light verification tests (or smoketests) will be first run when the builds are ready. Tests are available on Mozilla Moztrap under the 19.0 smoketest suite. In any case of failure in any Smoketest, blockers need to be raised ASAP before proceeding to the BFTs.

[New] Media decoding (H.264) GB & HC

Gingerbread Support
  • HW & SW decoding with playback is working on the following GB devices as of Fx20:
    • HTC Desire HD, HTC EVO, Samsung Galaxy Y, Xperia Ion
Honeycomb Support
  • HW & SW decoding with playback also works on the Samsung Galaxy Tab on HC
  • SW decoding with playback is working on the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Samsung Galaxy Note; we should test SW decoding on other Samsung GB devices
  • HW decoding works on the S2 but playback is still in progress: bug 820236
Froyo
  • SW and HW decoding has landed in Fx20. HW decoding and was tested on LG-P970 running Android 2.2.2, see: bug 821160 but we need someone to test a device that has SW decoding support
Next Steps
  • We need to triage the black list and target devices we want to optimize for and get off of the black list
  • We need to go through the backlog of HW and SW tagged bugs and also triage any new bugs and tag accordingly
