Major Update Test Results: Firefox 2.0.0.16 to Firefox 3.0.1 (Live)

This is the final spot check after releasing major updates to Firefox 2.0.0.16 users. Major update dialogs should be translated and displayed correctly. Main elements of the details page should be displayed without having to use the scroll bars, and the "learn more" link should open in a new page.

Instructions

• Download and install the Firefox 2.0.0.16
• Install at least one add-on that is compatible with both Firefox 2.x and Firefox 3.x, and at least one add-on that is not compatible with Fx3.x
• Once you restart the browser select "Check for Updates" from the Help menu
• Make sure all dialogs look OK during major update
• NOTE: This is for MU testing purposes only. Please do not modify any files if you are not actively testing with the Mozilla QA team. Thanks!

Results on release

• Go through the list of available locales in Firefox 20016 in the Mozilla 2.0.0.16 download page
• Focus on Tier 1 locales first: List of Fx3 Tier 1 Locales
• Add-ons to test extension compatibility dialogs:
  • Try this Fx3-incompatible add-on which has an update
  • Try this Fx3-incompatible
  • Try this Fx2 and Fx3 compatible
• Reference Details pages for all l10n

Results Criteria

• Pass if you can see the wordmark, logo and "Learn more" link without scrolling, and the link opens up in a new window with localized content
• Fail Otherwise
• Note if you see scroll bars
