This project is an outgrowth of the [http://www.google.com/tools/firefox/safebrowsing/ Safe Browsing] extension released by Google. It was released under MPL to Mozilla in order that it might be taken advantage of in Firefox 2.
Note that it is pure coincidence that Internet Explorer 7 will has phishing protection.
