'''Title of Session''': Introducing SocialAPI
'''Facilitator(s)''': Shane Caraveo, Mark Hammond
'''Are you paid or volunteer staff?''': paid
Shane: Within Labs I focus on aspects of social networking, with a strong interest in privacy and security issues, as features in Firefox or in online services. I've been with Mozilla since 2010, starting in Mozilla Messaging, and have been building software on top of Mozilla software since 2001.
Mark: Also working within Labs on aspects '''Location of social networking. IWork (where do you reside?)'ve been paid staff since 2012 but have been contributing to Mozilla with checkin permissions since 2000.'': Vancouver, Canada
'''Location of Work (where do you reside?)''': Vancouver (Shane), Melbourne Australia (Mark) '''Talk Length (please choose between 30, 60, 90, 120 minutes)''': 9060
'''Summary''': With the SocialAPI, services can create an immersive social experience for their users in Firefox. This session will cover goals and possible directions for social functionality in Firefox, provide an understanding of the architecture and introduce developers to the building blocks they can use to create a SocialAPI provider.
Developer focused, but anyone interested in understanding how to create a SocialAPI provider is welcome.

Note that if preferred by the organizers we would be happy to split this into 2 sessions - one focused on the use and objectives of the feature itself and another focused on developers who wish to implement a provider or gain a deeper understanding of the implementation.
'''Equipment Needs (Video projector already included)''': wifi
