Re: fallback for displays

This is definately going to be a pain, whatever happens. One possibility (though UI would be tricky to do well) is to have the 'display' action have a list of items, each with:

• what view they refer to
• whether to force it into existence

Another possibility is to have an extra action type, 'create', which lets you force a particular view (from the usual list of possibly related views) to exist, then the 'display' action only needs a list of views and will display on the first that exists.

You'd obviously need multiple 'display' actions to display a message in multiple places, but I think that is the only way to do it.
