It took a while, but after reloading my Firefox 2.0.0.4 and getting some help from a friend, I was able to get bookmarks added to my browser. That was the least of my worries with Firefox. Aside from the fact that I can't see some of the videos I have tried to view and I can't seem to find the knowledge bases that assist with working with Firefox and I can't make a lot of the plugins work, plus a huge trojan in one of the Bookmark Add-ons, is the fact that it seems to be a browser for people who are experts in the world of WWW.

Many thanks to my friend, Bill Hardie, who helped me understand that bookmarks that do not show in the toolbars and are not in the customize list are probably someplace else invisible. Reloading Firefox and then setting the defaults and then going to Customize worked. Nothing in the Bookmarks section of help worked, especially not the part that says "Bookmarks Toolbar - Toggles the visibility of the bookmarks toolbar, which contains bookmarks to various sites." That particular statement is a lot like saying a "What does a rabbit look like? Firefox answer: "It looks like a rabbit." If the toolbar is not there and is not among the icons in the customize, then where is it?

Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to rant. My efforts for my friends and clients will be to learn as much as I can about Firefox and then find easy ways to make the darn thing work. I also plan on bugging the hell out of the techie people to get the multimedia (simple stuff) working properly. I will create a site to make self help possible for users who are just getting started (like me).
