View Source Roadmap

This document details a planned roadmap for view source improvements in Firefox 3.2 and later.

Roadmap Goals

• Prioritization: What is really important?
• Motivation: What tasks to enable?
• Break down into line items and cost each one.
• What should be done for alpha 1, alpha 2, etc.

Feature Goals

1. Linkify all element attributes that are know to be URL attributes.
2. Add a toolbar to view source. Bug 455948
   1. Back and Forward buttons
   2. Toggle line wrap
   3. Toggle marginal line numbers Bug 246620
   4. Go to line number
   5. Retrieved-from-cache? indicator
3. Handle other media types the same way as images. Bug 472417
