Mozilla Mentor Community:

The Mozilla Mentor Community is a global network of educators, techies, makers, parents, artists, librarians, youth and other people who are passionate about building a more digitally literate world.

Mentor Community Talking Points:

Hive Learning Networks currently exist in New York City, Chicago and Pittsburgh. Other cities in Hive start-up mode include Toronto, Athens, London and the Bay Area.

  • We are building a constellation of Hive Learning Networks globally to act as hubs of connected learning activity and innovation.
  • We're creating and collecting teaching resources that are 100% free, remixable, hackable and shareable.
  • We're forging connections between those have skills with those who want to develop new skills.
  • We just launched webmaker.org/teach as a destination for finding resources and connecting with other mentors. Also find us on Twitter @mozteach.

Campaign Talking Points:

  • We are convening a global Webmaker Party from June 15 to September 15 to celebrate and build and teach the world the web.
  • We are helping to drive a global campaign celebrating the idea of Making As Learning.
  • We are partnering with the MacArthur Foundation, the National Writing Project and others to lead the a campaign about innovative learning in the US.
  • We are partnering with NESTA, the Nominet Trust and others in the UK on the Make Things Do Stuff digital making campaign.
  • SAVE THE DATE: October 25 – 27: Mozilla Festival 2013, in London, UK at Ravensbourne University. An annual read/write festival for learning and making the open web.
