Join us in Extending Mozilla's Voice

Every day, there are many opportunities for Mozilla to evangelize and build community. Let's make sure the we all take advantage of these occasions!

Spreading Mozilla one voice at a time

Mozilla is a giant set of people from different countries with different backgrounds all sharing the commonality of appreciating and supporting similar ideals and standards of the Web. Feel empowered and prepared to speak about Mozilla! Today, employees do a fair amount of speaking all over the world, but that is just a drop in the bucket. Most interesting and compelling stories are to be found outside of these spokespeople.

Many in the Mozilla community already do speak publicly, but this is informal and individual. Unfortunately, there is no coordination to identify good opportunities or to provide useful materials. Let's see if we can change this! Firefox is spread to new users, first and foremost, by word of mouth, making each possible speaking opportunity even more important.

Be the Mozilla voice!

The Mozilla project is involved with many events (Mozilla Events Calendar), but there are many more that are are unknown or the community doesn't have someone who can attend directly.

Let's all post any events Mozilla should be represented at below. These include conferences, panels, discussions, user groups, school meetings, etc. With back to school just around the corner, we could hold a Firefox tutorial.

Let's have a populated list starting August 2007!

For all events at which Mozilla should be represented, let's include our names and expertises next to the event, and email events at mozilla dot com to open up lines of communication after the event is added.

The Mozilla Corporation can help on a case by case basis with requests. It is ready to provide speaker training, Firefox or Mozilla materials such as posters, buttons, and shirts, or by providing presentation materials. Let Mozilla Corporation help us.

Also, if anyone is interested in helping organize this initiative of learning about new speaking opportunities and creating a speakers bureau, go ahead, and email events at mozilla dot com.
