General Firefox 1.5.0.x Test Plan

This is the basic set of tests we run for every security & maintenance release.

Description of Release

This release is to address several regressions that were discovered in the Firefox 2.0.0.2/1.5.0.10 release. There are a small number of bugs that will be included in this release.

Windows Vista Test Plan

Firefox 2.0.0.2 was the first release where we introduced support for the Windows Vista platform. To that end, we need to make sure for this release that everything works well, especially in light of the shim. We should consult Marcia's original test plan, located here: Windows Vista Test Plan, as well as run the Windows Vista specific test suite that is currently in Litmus.

  • Tuesday: Updates testing
  • Ongoing Bug Verifications

Schedule

  • Tentative Release Date: Thur March 15th

Test Results

Status
Smoketests BFTs
Firefox 2.0.0.3 PASS PASS (on Vista)
Firefox 1.5.0.11 PASS PASS (on Xp x64)

Bug Verifications

When you verify the bug is fixed:

  • If you test on Trunk, resolve it as VERIFIED FIXED
  • If you test on 1.8.x.x branch, replace the fixed1.8.0.11 / fixed1.8.1.3 keyword with verified1.8.0.11 / verified1.8.1.3

Tips:

  • Verify on both 1.8.0.11 and 1.8.1.3 for bugs fixed on both branches
  • If you don't see an easy way to verify or need further clarification add a comment to the bug or add "[needs testcase]" (without quotes) to the bug's Status Whiteboard.
