Metrics Contributors

We need your data/science/number/hacking help

Hello!

I'm Adam, Metrics Lead at Mozilla Foundation, and I need your help. Could you spare some time and energy to support Mozilla in our mission to promote openness, innovation & opportunity on the Web?

We're a non-profit, and the success of our mission depends on participation from people like you.

If you work with data or metrics, or have some related skills and would like to contribute to Mozilla's metrics work in some way, I'd love to hear from you. You don't need to be a metrics "expert", you just need to care about Mozilla and be interested in exploring and learning as we go. There are projects of every size we can hack on together.

This metrics work is a pretty new way to get involved with Mozilla and there are many and varied skills that can help us push things forward. My work so far this year has been a combination of writing code, querying databases, building dashboards and apps to capture things and most importantly finding the stories in our data that help us take action to make things better. It's a fun space to work in, and I learn something new every day. Hopefully you can too.

Send me an email

If this sounds good to you, send me an email (adam@mozillafoundation.org) that looks something like this:

  • Hey, I'm...
  • I support Mozilla because...
  • The best thing about metrics is...
  • I have some skills in...
  • I'd like to learn more about...
  • By contributing, I hope I can...

Or send it to our mailing list.

What's in it for you?

Contribution is entirely voluntary, you're not obligated in any way, and if it works properly should be beneficial to you personally as well as to Mozilla. Our Webmaker program will show you that we believe in the power of connected learning by making and doing.

I hope through this metrics contributor program we can build a small community of people who share skills and work together for the benefit of the web. Check out our current wiki page for things we've been working on, and thinking about (we also have bigger ideas for the future, and you're welcome to invent new projects).

Looking forward to hearing from you, and hacking with you soon!

Adam
